Glock's First-Ever Rifle: The GR-115 Now in Use by International Police
Rumors of a Glock carbine have been making their way around the gun community for years now. When details of patented components for an AR-15 were leaked in 2021, we all dared to dream. And when Glock officially registered the rifle through the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior in 2023, things got really exciting.
By 2025, actual Glock rifles had been spotted in the hands of law enforcement personnel around the world. And now, the most recent update comes from the UK, where the Glock GR-115 was officially announced as the weapon of choice for specialist armed policing units on January 9, 2026.
So, what do we know about the Glock GR-115? Unfortunately, not a ton. We do know that this rifle is currently only available to some military and law enforcement organizations internationally and cannot be purchased by civilians anywhere at this time. According to We Are The Mighty, in addition to the recent UK announcement, the GR-115 has been seen in the hands of Slovakian law enforcement and was included in a Brazilian law enforcement contract as well. There have even been rumors of some GR-115s being spotted within select groups of the U.S. military.

You won’t find anything about the rifle on Glock’s website. So, what physical details we know about the GR-115 come from the company’s bid to the Public Security Secretariat in the State of Alagoas, Brazil, as reported by The Gun Trade and We Are The Mighty.
Chambered in .223, the semi-automatic GR-115 can hold 10, 20, or 30 rounds. It appears to be available with either an 11.5-inch or 14.75-inch barrel and weighs 6.2 or 6.79 pounds, respectively.
Operating off an internal pistol gas-operating system, the GR-155 features a Magpul stock, pistol grip, and backup iron sights. Both of its receivers are made of billet and are fixed with ambidextrous controls as well as an enlarged Geissele trigger and a bolt catch and release to make it easy to use while wearing gloves.
Finally, on the left side of the GR-115 there’s a handguard with M-LOK attachment points to allow for mounting accessories at various angles. It looks to have a quick-detach interface at the upper receiver point as well.
Glock GR-115 Specs:
- Caliber: .223
- Capacity: 10, 20, or 30
- Barrel Length: 11.5” or 14.75”
- Weight: 6.2–6.79 lbs
- MSRP: $2,000
Although so far there’s no word on if or when the Glock GR-115 will ever be available to the American market, it’s still an exciting evolution to the manufacturer’s line. For now, we’ll keep an eye out for any major updates.
