Glock 26

Glock 26 Gen4 9mm pistol with textured grip resting on a log beside a black Kydex holster in an outdoor woodland setting.

The Glock 26 is a subcompact pistol specifically designed for concealed carry. It’s chambered in 9mm Luger and comes standard with a 10-round magazine capacity, though larger magazines are available that can hold up to 33 rounds.

The G26 is a nice and compact option, making it an ideal backup weapon for those who use a larger pistol as their primary carry gun. This is especially true considering that the larger magazines of the Glock 17 and 19 also fit the smaller Glock 26.

This pistol is designed with Glock’s Safe Action trigger system, which features three independently operated mechanical safeties that are built directly into the pistol’s fire control system.

Weighing only 21.52 ounces unloaded and measuring 6.5 inches long, 1.26 inches wide, this subcompact pistol packs quite a punch for its size. Learn more and browse Glock 26 models online, or shop our selection of IWB, OWB, and pocket carry Glock 26 holsters here

Taurus G2C

The Taurus G2C is a popular compact semi-automatic pistol among gun enthusiasts. Known for its dependability and reasonable price, it's an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable firearm for concealed carry.

This sturdy handgun is built with a polymer frame and stainless steel barrel and features a textured grip that makes it easy to handle. Additionally, its low-profile sights allow for quick and accurate target acquisition.

In terms of safety, the G2C features a loaded chamber indicator, manual safety, and trigger safety, which minimizes the risk of accidental discharge.

Measuring only 5.1 inches tall, 1.2 inches wide, and 6.3 inches long with a barrel length of 3.2 inches, this 22-ounce pistol packs an impressive 12-round magazine capacity. Learn more and browse Taurus G2C models online, or shop our selection of IWB, OWB, and pocket carry Taurus G2C holsters here

Taurus G2C vs Glock 26: Size & Capacity

Side by Side comparison of the Glock 26 and the Taurus G2Ce, set on a grid style background to provide measurements of size.

In terms of size, these two pistols are incredibly similar. The G26 weighs a tiny bit less at 21.52 ounces and stands 4.17 inches tall, 1.26 inches wide, and 6.5 inches long with a barrel length of 3.43 inches.

The Taurus G2C, on the other hand, weighs 22 ounces and measures 5.1 inches tall, 1.2 inches wide, and 6.3 inches long with a barrel length of 3.2 inches

Both pistols are chambered in 9mm, though the Glock comes standard with a 10-round capacity while the Taurus can hold 12. That said, extended magazines are available for both models if you’re looking for extra rounds.

Because they’re so close in size and capacity, neither firearm has an advantage in the size and capacity category. However, if budget is a concern, the Taurus is about half the price of the Glock 26 with MSRPs of around $300 and $600, respectively.

Glock 26 vs Taurus G2C: Frame, Slide & Barrel

The Glock 26 features a subcompact polymer frame and a Tenifer-coated steel slide. It has rear slide serrations and grip stippling for better handling. It also has a modular grip with interchangeable backstraps, which is great if you need to customize it to larger or smaller hand sizes.

The Taurus G2C is built with a compact, polymer frame, an aluminum alloy slide, and a stainless steel barrel. It has a loaded chamber indicator on the top of the slide, as well as a 1-inch tactical accessory rail for mounting various compact lights and lasers if desired, giving it an edge over the G26 in this category.

Taurus G2C vs Glock 26: Sights & Optics

Although neither of these pistols comes optics-ready, they are both equipped with white factory sights. Plenty of aftermarket sights are also available for both models if you’re looking for something a little more advanced, and the Glock 26 does come in an MOS variation if modular optic compatibility is a dealbreaker for you.

Trigger

While the Glock 26 has a simple single-action-only trigger with built-in safety features, the Taurus G2C’s trigger is more advanced. The G2C has a unique single-action trigger with restrike capability, making it faster and easier to make follow-up shots.

Essentially, this restrike function means that the gun’s single-action trigger doesn’t need to cycle before you can re-cock the striker. This is a handy feature in that you can pull the trigger a second time in the event a round doesn’t fire, and allows you to practice dry firing without having to recycle it every time.

Safety

Safety is a major difference between these two pistols. The Taurus G2C comes with a manual thumb safety, a loaded chamber indicator, and a firing pin block. Alternatively, the Glock 26 does not have a manual safety and instead features Glock’s Safe Action trigger system, which is designed with three independent mechanical safeties that disengage as the gun’s trigger is pulled and re-engage when released.

Which is Right For Me?

Both the Taurus G2C and the Glock 26 side by side.

If you’re trying to choose between the Taurus G2C vs Glock 26 for concealed carry, you can’t go wrong with either model. Both pistols are compact and functional for self-defense, with a few different features that may make one a better fit for you than the other.

Although extremely similar in size, the Taurus G2C has an accessory rail and a manual thumb safety, while the Glock has modular backstraps and Glock’s Safe Action trigger system. The Taurus is also half the price of the Glock, so the best choice for you all comes down to the features you need and your personal preference.
